1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
For the Creamy Cheese Layer:
2 cups ricotta cheese or cottage cheese
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
12 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained
Directions:
In a large pan over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chicken sausage until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
Add diced onion and garlic, sautéing for 3–4 minutes until soft and fragrant.
Stir in marinara sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Let simmer for 20–25 minutes until rich and flavorful.
In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, egg, Parmesan cheese, and 1 cup mozzarella. Mix until smooth and creamy.
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a 9×13-inch baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce, followed by lasagna noodles, then a layer of the creamy cheese mixture. Repeat layers until ingredients are used, finishing with meat sauce and remaining mozzarella on top.
Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 10–15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy.
